Waste not, want not

Reused, Recycled school supplies

At the Education Garden, we are firm believers in reducing, reusing, and recycling. So many perfectly usable school supplies end up in landfills each year. According to Green Binz, “77% of school supplies are wasted. The average American school wastes an estimated 67 pounds per student per year in discarded school supplies . . . “

We collect used and discarded pencils, crayons, colored pencils, sport bags, backpacks and more from area schools to take with us to schools and education partners in Nicaragua. Businesses that have changed their logos and need to jettison old swag can also donate those items.
